OpenHand Café & Gallery Paharganj
The Backpacker Heart Of Old Delhi

Main Bazaar, Paharganj! Throngs of tourists, the occasional cow and a tangle of cycle rickshaws melt together in a bustling bazaar lined with craft shops. There is no place like Paharganj. Known since the hippie days in the 70's as a hub for a cheap stay & food from dhabas, where chillums & alternative thoughts are welcome the place has a magic of its own that attracts visitors and offers an undiluted India experience. Just off the main bazaar opposite Hotel Vishal is a passageway or locally known as a 'gully' where shop owners lazily wait for customers while chatting with their neighbors, Rabbis in black jackets & broad rimmed hats brave the heat and the friendly chai wallah hands out cups of steaming chai. At the end of this lane lies OpenHand Café & Gallery Paharganj, nestled away from the crowds, the dust and bustle of the main road. Here you will find a gentle ambiance, a subtle hint of sanity to prepare you for the next wild chapter in your travels. Home made basil pizza, Pasta Arabiata, a selection of espresso based coffees and freshly baked goods served by our friendly staff. A jewel worth finding!
